Baja California .. Sea of Cortez

  1. Hi Clapotis crew. I know you have sold this boat, but just as a long shot I thought I would reach out to see if you are still receiving messages and might feel inclined to assist with a bit of info. Despite your posts being a few years old now, they contain some of the best information on Lagoon 450 equipment and sailing - well done, and thanks. I have a L450S down in Melbourne Australia. We're currently in 6 weeks of strict lock down with C19 and havent been able to get away sailing up the Australian east coast this winter. The upside is that I've been able to get through a few boat projects while we are stuck here - although at the moment are not even allowed to travel to the boat. A couple of items on my project list are to add a Code 0, and an asymetric spinnaker. The sails on Clapotis are beautiful! Obviously a spin-off of your racing days that you mentioned. I am having trouble finding specs for Lagoon recommended Code 0 and Asymetric, aside from the zero being 93 sqm and the spinnaker 190 sqm. I am interested in a nice second hand North G-Zero of 116 sqm and luff=19.73m that a friend of mine is selling. The problem at the moment is that I dont know the dimensions of the recommended code sail and cant get to my boat to measure. If you are still receiving messages from this blog, I was wondering if you, like me, keep technical info on your equipment filed away, and if yes, if you could be bothered sending me some details on your code zero and asymetric please. If you dont receive this message, or dont have the info, or are not inclined, i've lost nothing by asking - and thanks anyway for the great info that is on your blog! best regards, Bryn brynwellington@gmail.com
