Video coming back from catalina

We sailed pretty well on our way back. Wind was on beam reach between 6 to 11 knots.

It took us 4h30mns to come back with a speed between 5.5 and 8.2 knots with some top speed in the high 9''s

Dad and Boy Trip to Catalina

We went to Catalina with Paul to celebrate father's day ! Awesome trip and awesome boy .
He will be Clapotis' s best crew mate in the future .

LAGOON 450 Rendez-Vous

During our trip to Catalina, we got a FB message from Brian who was moored in  Emerald Bay.

I delivered Brian's Lagoon 450 (hull 146) about 3 years ago. Since then, the boat sailed 22,000 miles.

What a great time sharing latest news and remembering the old good days when we crossed the Atlantic during the ARC 2012 ...

Clapotis and Increddible sealodge are already good friends and they plan to leave together for the Marquesas in 2017

The carbon wheel

OK. I admit... it is maybe too much ... but coming from the racing world , I couldn't avoid to have a nice additional toy...
But it looks GOOD !!!

And honestly , it gives a little better feeling while steering and more precise while docking.

It was made by GS Composite in Slovenia. It took us 2 minutes to swap the standard one.

A VIP visit ... with Theo

Theo is just back from the Fiji.
We delivered him a Lagoon 450, 2 and half year ago. Last year he and wanda sailed to the Marquesas, Tuamotus, Tahiti (where I joined them for 10 days), Tonga then spend our winter in New Zealand...
It was a good friendship time to talk about our beloved boats (the 450), sailing and preparing Clapotis trip in 2 years .

Tiphaine's Birthday

To celebrate her birthday , Tiphaine wanted to invite all her friends on board.

We ended up with 18 kids jumping around... But the boat is so big that we never felt the crowd.

Tiphaine is now 15 years and she promised to remain the staging manager on the boat.

Photoshoot with stars

Today we had a star on board of clapotis ...

We did a photoshoot for the ''Rich kids of beverly hills'' who are now engaged !

The challenge was to anchor closed to the Santa Monica Pier.. 35 feet of water and sand in the bottom... It was not easy to have some grip on the anchor but we did it.

Producer was very happy of the results of the pictures .

First Week end in Catalina

First week end in Catalina

In July 2010 we were 6 guys in Catalina, partying on a Beneteau Oceanis 40... We create a recurring event . ''the Catalina Triathlon'' . Since then we go twice a year to Catalina island to compete the famous ''Triathlon''.
We play cards, ''petanque'', hike in the mountains and have few drinks !

This was the first time for Clapotis on the island. a good opportunity to verify that the Lagoon 450 can welcome  easily15 people for dinner, hold 30 bottles of wine in the cellar and more...

And it was a good opportunity to test all the systems on the boat (generator, watermaker, pumps, lights, and more...).

We were 2 Lagoon Catamarans. Arthur took his LAGOON 400  ''Les 3 Amis''. Then we could accomodate a nice bedroom to everybody ... 2 Lagoon together is like a tennis court and Hotel ...

We love the lights ! Under water and above water

We love lights ...

we added 4 under water lights 6 LED Aqualuma, courtesy lights in the transom, lights at flybridge and 2 aqualuma lights under the bridgedeck and a aft deck LED light from Lopolight.

Wine Cellar by the Captain

A lagoon 450 is always where you want to be... The good news is that we have plenty of storage to store the wine (red Bordeaux) and Rose' which are the skipper's favorite.... 

Any occasion will be good to have a good time with friends !
